生きているミュージアム『NIFREL(ニフレル)』の新展示ゾーン「ひびきにふれる」。
この展示には、あえて生き物は居ない。仕切られた空間に16個のスピーカーが囲むのみ。音によって生物の多様性の違いを感じられる体験にした。この空間では耳をすますほど、生命や自然の息吹が感じられる。川のせせらぎ、風の音、森、里山、海、そしてそれらに住まう動物たちの息遣い・鳴き声・足音などが、空間全体から体験者にダイレクトに響いていく。そして終盤には都会の喧噪も聞こえてくる。多様性とは、単なる野生の生き物だけではなく、人間もその一部なのだ。立体音響技術によって、音像が体験者の体の周囲や上下に移動し、臨場感のある音体験を設計した。映像演出では、天井から放射状に張り巡らされた糸に、それぞれの環境をイメージした色合いの抽象的なプロジェクションマッピングを行い、より音に没頭する空間とした。まさに微振動を体全体で浴びることから、「ひびきにふれる」展示を目指した。
NIFREL: The Living Museum's New Exhibition Zone “Atmosphere”. This exhibition deliberately excludes living creatures. Only sixteen speakers surround the partitioned space. It offers an experience where one can sense the differences in biological diversity through sound alone. In this space, the more you listen intently, the more you feel the breath of life and nature. The murmurs of a river, the sound of wind, the forest, the satoyama, the sea, and the breathing, cries, and footsteps of the animals inhabiting them resonate directly from the entire space to the visitor. Towards the end, the clamor of the city also becomes audible. Diversity encompasses not just wild creatures, but humans as part of it too. Using spatial audio technology, the sound image moves around and above/below the visitor's body, designing an immersive sound experience. For the visual presentation, abstract projection mapping in colors evoking each environment was projected onto threads radiating from the ceiling, creating a space for deeper immersion in the sound. Aiming for an exhibition where visitors could literally bathe their entire bodies in micro-vibrations, the concept was “Atmosphere”
