Jリーグ・サンフレッチェ広島のホームスタジアム エディオンピースウイング広島内に開設されたサッカー博物館。
サッカーの試合があるときはもちろん、ないときでも。充実した展示や体験型コンテンツなど、サッカーファンだけでなく、誰もが年間を通して楽しめる。このミュージアムを通して広島サッカーの歴史と誇りを次世代へ継承し、国内外に平和のメッセージを発信したいという熱い思いに応えるべく、まずは広島とサッカーが歩んできた歴史、被爆の凄惨さや戦後の復興について、膨大な書籍や資料をもとに徹底的にリサーチして理解するところから始めた。そこで出たのは、「平和」「スポーツ」「希望」といった数々のキーワード。このミュージアムの入口で上映される作品『RE LIFE ～サッカーと復興の物語～』は、日本に伝わったサッカーが、戦後の広島の希望となり復興を支え、現在のサッカー王国・広島へと成長するまでのストーリー。あえて字幕やナレーションを入れず、広島に暮らす人々がいかに困難を乗り越えて力強く復興し、サッカーとともに勇気と希望を持って挑戦していく物語を体感できるものとした。
The HIROSHIMA SOCCER MUSEUM, opened within the new home stadium of J.League club Sanfrecce Hiroshima, ‘Edion Peace Wing Hiroshima’, which opened in February 2024. With its rich exhibits and interactive content, this museum offers year-round enjoyment not just for soccer fans, but for everyone. To fulfill the passionate desire to pass on Hiroshima's soccer history and pride to the next generation and to send a message of peace both domestically and internationally through this museum, we began by thoroughly researching and understanding the history of Hiroshima and soccer, the horrors of the atomic bombing, and post-war reconstruction, based on a vast collection of books and materials. This research yielded numerous keywords: “peace,” “sports,” and “hope.” The film ‘RE LIFE: The Story of Soccer and Reconstruction’, screened at the museum's entrance, tells the story of how soccer, introduced to Japan, became a source of hope for post-war Hiroshima, supported its reconstruction, and grew into the soccer powerhouse Hiroshima is today. Deliberately avoiding subtitles or narration, it allows visitors to experience firsthand the story of how the people of Hiroshima overcame immense hardship to rebuild with strength, embracing courage and hope through soccer.
